I would like to introduce “AJO REBIRTH” the new album by WURA SAMBA, a 9-piece Afro drumming and percussion band from Lagos, Nigeria.
Led by master percussionist, singer, and songwriter Abiodun Oke (also known as Wura Samba), he is set to redefine Afro-folklore music with the release of his third album.
Known for his captivating energy and Yoruba-inspired rhythms, Wura Samba continues to push musical boundaries, solidifying his position as one of the leading forces in contemporary Afro-fusion.
AJO REBIRTH is a testament to Wura Samba’s artistic growth and his band’s unparalleled ability to blend traditional Yoruba elements with cosmopolitan influences. This live-recorded masterpiece features the vibrant call-and-response style central to Yoruba music, delivering high-intensity tracks that capture the essence of Afro-folklore like never before.
The album will officially be released on 28/02/2025 worldwide by Sambabe Entertainment / Ajazco Records (digitally and physically).
The first single from the album, “Iba Eledua” along with remixes by renowned house and electro music producers Razoof and Antonio Blakstad, shall be released on 21/03/2024, so please stay tuned!
